BUL FC handed NEC FC their first defeat of the season after securing a 2-1 victory at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, thanks to goals from Ronald Madoi and Swabur Mpasa.

Debutant Marvin Oshaba scored the consolation for NEC, but his effort was not enough to prevent the visitors from suffering their first loss of the campaign.

BUL took the lead in the 15th minute when Madoi found the back of the net to give the hosts a 1-0 advantage at half-time.

NEC responded shortly after the restart, with substitute Oshaba levelling matters six minutes into the second half. The debutant, who replaced Innocent Ronald Media at the beginning of the half, finished off a move set up by Tonny Atukunda to make it 1-1.

However, BUL restored their lead in the 67th minute when Mpasa unleashed a superb effort past NEC goalkeeper Juma Mutebi to put the hosts back in front.

NEC pushed for a late equaliser in an attempt to salvage a point away from home, but their efforts came to nothing. Emmanuel Kulanga came agonisingly close in stoppage time, only for his shot to strike the crossbar.

The result extended BUL’s impressive start to the season, with the Jinja-based side registering their sixth victory in seven outings while remaining unbeaten. The win took their tally to 19 points.

For NEC, the defeat marked their first loss of the season, leaving them on 14 points, level with SC Villa.

Meanwhile, at Najjembe Stadium in Mabira Lugazi FC and Express FC played out a goalless draw with both sides failing to find a breakthrough, settling for a point apiece in a match that ended 0-0.
