Capacity Building: 40 Coaches Kick Off Their Professional Careers

A total of 40 participants on monday 21st March started a week long beginners coaching course at FUFA technical center Njeru.
The Tangosport organized course is expected to end on Friday 25th November 2022.
While speaking to Tangosport media, FUFA instructor Kintu jimmy reveals how the first day has gone.
“We have started with 40 participants and so far we are moving on well. This course is about introducing coaches to modern coaching which involves understanding what they’re going to do and understanding how they are going to manage football. Some of the areas we focus on are leadership, coaching methodologies and how to develop football players.”

“The above are very important if you want to develop the game of football and these coaches at the grass roots are key stakeholders in terms of development.”

Among the participants is Kamakune Jaradina from Fort portal who counts her self lucky to be part of this amazing class.
“I got information about the beginners coaching course via WhatsApp. I find the things we are learning to be relevant to my coaching career as well as my studies because one of my course units is physical education. I am really lucky to be part of this program.” a smiling Kamakune said

Mawadri Philip from Adjumani shares what he has learned so far.
“So far we have learned the fundamentals of coaching, the tools we are supposed to use while coaching. For example dribbling, receiving and passing the ball. This is the first day of training and i expect even more as we keep going”
Philip also goes ahead to comment about the undisputed organization of the leading sports company in the country.
“The reception by Tangosport is really marvelous. We arrived to a very welcoming hospitality team. The organization is perfect and so far i haven’t seen anything not going well so i am just enjoying my services.”
A number of participants missed to be part of the class, something Tangosport general manager Mr Kato Faizal explains.
“We have had an overwhelming turn up of coaches yet FUFA gave us only forty slots. This has made us to painfully limit the number even when a number of participants desired to make it to this historical class.”

“We are under FUFA and so we don’t have authority to operate beyond the required number of participants. The only advice i have for our dear coaches is to always sign up as early as possible to avoid last minute disappointment.”
After the 5 days non-residential course, each of the 40 participants each will take home a FUFA certified document which is the first step to a professional football coaching career in the Uganda
