USSSA Teams conclude inspection of School’s facilities assigned for FEASSA and National 2024 bid

Soroti, Bukedea, Mbale, Kabale, FortPortal, Jinja, Mukono and Mpigi districts harbor a big dream of there secondary schools jointly hosting the prestigious East Africa biggest schools competition (FEASSA) and USSSA-National games in 2024, and each school in the mentioned districts has earmarked facilities for such an events.

As such, the Uganda secondary schools sports associations (USSSA) mandated two-member teams headed by ministry of education commissioners plus executive members plus media to specifically inspect the facilities listed in each school’s bid in readiness to host the tournaments.
The teams started the first Inspection preliminary last week on Monday, October 2nd to 7th 2023.
The district leaderships Soroti, Bukedea, Mbale, Kabale, FortPortal, Jinja, Mukono and Mpigi separately supported their respective district USSSAs’ bodies expressions of interest, guaranteeing full cooperation in the bids submitted to USSSA.

USSSA’s first Vice president Kitezzala and second Vice President Paul Bitek in the company of other executive members one led a team on a tour of Eastern and the other in Central and Western respectively under the watchful eyes of the team from Physical education.

Most headteachers, on their part, highlighted the school’s proposed facilities, including competition grounds, hostels for participants, hotels for officials, hospitals in case of emergencies, and swimming pools.
Most noted that if the bid is awarded to them, it would have lasting positive impacts on their zones and districts.
“I believe this is the right time for Kigezi to welcome the rest of East Africa secondary schools to our Zone. I know if this bid is successful, we will have a complete turnaround of the games in this zone having successfully hosted the USSSA-National Ball Games -Two this year 2023,” Mande Christopher the head teacher of Rushoroza stated.
Besides Rushoraza, the team inspected Janan Secondary School Bombo (National Schools Swimming Gala),Ndejje Secondary School (Fresh Dairy Games and National Football Boys Championship), St Joseph of Nazareth High School, Massaka secondary school, St Charles Secondary school -Kasasa and Nyakasura school in first preliminary inspection.
The other team inspected Namilyango College (FEASSSA Games), Seroma Christian High School (National Schools Swimming Gala), Jinja secondary school (FEASSA Games), Nabumali High school, Bukedea Comprehensive school-Amus college school (FEASSA Games) and Teso college -ALOET (Feassa Games and National Ball games two).
Meanwhile, after the successful conclusion of the first preliminary inspections of schools bids, The Uganda secondary schools sports association (USSSA) executive is set to sit tomorrow (Wednesday to Thursday) to receive the inspection reports to make their decisions ahead of the Annual general meeting due on Saturday, October 14th at GNS Hotel.
