Chairman Katwire speaks out on Bwizibwera MK post Function Saga

Last week, there was an MK Movement mega function that was held at Bwizibwera Play Ground in Bwizibwera, Kashari North Mbarara District where it is allegedly said that some money that was collected from the well-wishers (Sponsors) for the same function was diverted by some individuals.

There was also some rumours circulating that the organisers of the Ankore Sub-region MK Interregional Team Building function also received some money from the Office of Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba totalling to 100M.

However, Polly Katwire Karamuzi, who was the Chairman Organizing Committee for MK Inter regional Team Building activities in Ankore Sub-region has dismissed allegations that they received 100M from Gen. Muhoozi which some people claim that  the money was misused.

He has also trashed allegations that he received and misused the money from the well-wishers as contributions raised for the  function.

Speaking to this website, Katwire said that he led the committee and were able to receive some money through contributions that were raised from the well-wishers. He added that all the money that was received was used for the purpose of the function including other pledges like the cows, water, rice etc and all were used for what they were supposed to do. That all the six cows which were given from the sponsors were all slaughtered and eaten by the masses that turned up on the function.  That they used between 70M -80M and there was no any balance remaining.  Adding that instead some of the committee members put in their own money including Himself as Katwire who put his 8M to support the function. MP Bazir Bataringa also put his millions of money to ensure that the function could be successful. He also mentioned that most of the sponsors paid their money directly to the service providers.

He Attributed these allegations to some people who refused to accept the notification of all the groups as it was guided by Gen. Muhoozi. He added that the people who are circulating such false allegations are just against him as Katwire particularly.

“We got many forces against us from the time when we launched our activities as MK Movement Inter regional Team Building in Ankore Region. I must tell the public that whatever money I got and my committee, was used for it’s purpose. And I want to dismiss allegations that I received 100m from Gen. Muhoozi for the function we did in Bwizibwera.  For us we are Nyekundire group who put our own money to make sure that we promote our son Gen. Muhoozi. For us we are mobilizers of MK movement” said Katwire.

On the function that was held in Bwizibwera, there was opening of MK Movement offices in Bwizibwera and it was officiated by Minister Frank Tumwebaze who represented Gen. Muhoozi. There was also football matches and  entertainments from different choirs.
