She Wolves beats Uganda Cup winner Nile Rapids in Nile special Women’s league rugby

The Mbale City based women rugby team,she Wolves on Saturday 3rd February 2024 registered their first win in the Nile special Women’s league rugby 15s edging the Uganda Cup winner Nile Rapids in the game played at Busamaga play ground.

Gamisha Mariam,Nasimbwa Sumaya and Wilembe Gladys all scored Tries (T) get fifteen points,and Nile Rapids scored Tries Conversion (TC)through Namono Minat.

National Rugby women’s league kick-started, on 3rd of February,2024and it hopes to end on 11th May,2024.Nabwire Christine had outstanding performance and she was given an accolade for the good display.

Ms Faridah Kayegi, the team manager,thanked the players for the good game, saying that its a good start for the girls.

Nile Rapids Jinja

“Our team is good , even though we face many challenges,like equipment, financial problems because of the environment where we stay, people are used to other sports and giving in a Rugby team is really a problem”.she noted.

She also recommended the head teacher Nkoma Ss Hajji Kawanguzi Abubakr and Prudential insurance company for the support they rendered the team and asked others also to join them and develop the game.

She Wolves will visit Awes at Makerere play ground on 10th February 2024 in the second game,and this is their first time to play in the National women’s league.
