Panicky Eng. Silver Mugisha threatens to sue government over his contract at NWSC

BUSHENYI – The outgoing Managing Director of National Water and Sewerage Cooperation (NWSC) Eng. Silver Mugisha, has threatened to take government to court. Eng. Mugisha made these expressions while attending a wedding function in Bushenyi and later on BFM radio over the weekend.

This comes at a time as the flamboyant Bushenyi’s blue eyed boy is currently facing hardships with the renewal of his contract from the Uganda’s head of state who is none other than President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

It should be noted that last year on the 16th of May, the NWSC Board members recommend him to the appointing authority for the extension of his term of office which the president hasn’t accented to.

Our moles have since learnt that, at the beginning of this month Eng. Mugisha recieved a letter directing him to handover to Eng. Alex Gisagara who will be in acting position till another Director is appointed. Eng. Gisagara has been the Director of Engineering at NWSC and has a vast experience in management.

This will not be the first time for him to act as a caretaker. It is remembered that whereas in 2011 when Mr. William Muheirwe resigned from the office of the Managing Director NWSC, he was entrusted with the same office.

It is alleged that, when he contested for the Job together with Dr. Silver Mugisha and Mr. Patrick Byabakama Kaberenge, Eng. Gisagara outshined them with a 69.3% followed by Dr. Silver Mugisha who scored 69.1% and Mr. Patrick Byabakama Kaberenge with 62%.

However, Dr. Silver Mugisha was appointed the Director after consideration of other factors. In his term of office Dr. Silver has been able to make water extensions to a number of areas in Uganda and has over seen the construction of Katosi plant which has tremendously improvement of water supply in Kampala metropolitan.

Now, Eng. silver Mugisha, has lauded his voice saying that his new contract has already started, adding that it infact commenced in September last year and that if they it’s terminated he will seek legal redress and definitely government will compensate him. Wallnetnews reporters has obtained a video recording of him at the wedding of Mr. Ediga in Bushenyi over the weekend. Staff from NWSC have since been quoted his exit from NWSC will immensely be missed as but we hoped to be deployed somewhere else. Adding for now they congratulate Eng. Alex Gisagara for being appointed Acting MD NWSC.

The developments are not new as he was previously been quoted by many media houses when he was asking his friend BP. Johnson Twinomujuni of West Ankole Diocese and other protestant Church leaders to petition the President for his renewal on grounds that he has equally helped the church.
