City boss Kisaka lauds Development Partners for their support towards achieving Smart City Agenda

KAMPALA – Last year, the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) had several activities that appeared on their work planner which were left unfunded by the Government of Uganda.
However, with the support of Development partners, these activities saw some external funding for these city works. These were mainly in; Education, Health, Tourism, and City infrastructure development among others.
Interacting with some of these development partners who paid courtesy to the Kampala Capital City on Monday morning, Authority’s Execute Director Ms. Dorothy Kisaka revealed that, in 2023, KCCA received external funding for these city works; for the lighting of KCCA markets, Schools and refurbishments several city infrastructure were funded by UNDP.
Kisaka added that, KCCA received support from Standard Chartered for training in financial literacy for all PDM beneficiaries in the 99 parishes, which will roll out in 2024.

She also acknowledged the receipt of over one million trees from the Private Sector Foundation for Greening Kampala city, which is the strategic plan in the smart City camping.
The City boss also use the same time to inform the public that, this year of 2024, under an initiative by the Ministers of Kampala, Kampala City have received a funding offer to hold a covid rememberance parade.
