Wife to Masindi DHO detained in connection with murder of her Husband

MASINDI – Police in the district of Masindi have arrested four suspects including the wife to late Dr. Jino Abiriga who has been working as the acting Masindi district health officer.

This development has been confirmed by the head of the District security task force and the Resident District commissioner (RDC) Emmy Ngabirano in a telephone interview with Wallnetnews. According to Emmy Ngabirano, these have been arrested to help in the investigations into the death of their family head.

Speaking with our reporter, afande Julius Allan Hakiza, the Albertine Region Police Spokesperson, reveals that the four include the deceased’s wife, although he could not divulge their identities for fear of jeopardizing investigations.

“Four family members, including the wife, were arrested to help us in the investigations because we established there were blood stains in the family house, although the body had been dumped in the neighbor’s compound,” he said.

The Masindi District Acting Health Officer Dr. Jino Abiraga was yesterday morning found murdered near his home, after he was reportedly murdered in his house and body dumped outside his gate.

Preliminary investigations by police indicate that the deceased’s death was masterminded by his wife. Sources have since revealed that, the wife is said to have brought murderers in the house who slaughtered the man (DHO), after entering the house from duty where he had gone to carryout C-Section before attending a wedding ceremony in his neighborhood. 

They added that, the murderers reportedly carried the body and cleaned the house but forgot to hide the knife and a piece of cotton wool which they used to clean the blood in the house after killing him.

Sensitive information gathered by Wallnetnews indicates that the family has been with inside wrangles  as the is said wife wanted to own all the family property the reason she masterminded the husband’s death and she is currently detained for further interrogation.

Meanwhile, the body of the deceased by was yesterday transported to  Mulago hospital in Kampala, for full examination to determine the exact cause of death.
