Museveni made this clarion call on Saturday evening at Kololo ceremonial grounds while officiating the launch of a new song tittled ‘Museveni Awooma’ sang by Eman Nsereko aka Munamasaka.

The President who was franked by his wife, Hon. Janet Kataha Museveni also Uganda’s Minister of Education and sports, said that, he was thrilled to see Munamasaka engaging in giving service delivery to the public through his talent of entertainment (singing, music and dancing).

Museveni recalled that Munamasaka was previously in teaching service but he later changed to entertainment where he feels he can do better.

Mr. Museveni, thanked Munamasaka for using his talent in promoting NRM’s development adding that he first saw some time back in Mukono district while singing his good cultural entertainment songs which reminded him what they used to sing while they were in the bush during the NRA/M liberation war. “This was the same way we used to mobilise people using such voices like Munamasaka” President Museveni said.

He promised that, the government will support all Ugandans who are like Munamasaka and his group by facilitating them with funds and equipments. Adding that some of them have indeed been supported.

He however wondered why they are not cooperating together. The President encouraged them to Unite and cooperate to use a one common user facility. He gave an example of owning a single studio used by all of them whereby they can contribute small fee and record their songs. Museveni promised to call a meeting and discuss with them how this can be done and everyone can benefit from their own talents.

The President however noted that, not all people can be singers, but others can do other things. He outlined 4 Sectors to which others can engage earn and contribute to the development – Services (singing, saloon, transport, Hospitality etc), Agriculture (farming and fisheries), industries especially in SMEs and Technology (ICT).

He stated that, If these are not focusd on, then there will be scarcity of necessities. He encouraged the Youths especially the Bazukullu to engage in all sectors which will harness self income and development.

Earlier, in his appreciation, Musician Eman Nsereko Munamasaka, thanked the president for his continued support towards music industry in Uganda. He stressed that those undermining the current government are the beneficiaries of it’s deeds and that’s why he came up with the song of ‘Museveni Awooma’ because of joy and sweetness of Museveni’s government.

Munamasaka informed the president that he was however frustrated by the Office of NRM National Chairman who kept on spreading wrong messages for cancellations of the event, a thing that had earlier been notified by the Honourable Minister for Kampala Capital City and metropolitan area Hajjat Minsa Kabanda while welcoming the president.

The event was attended by thousands of NRM supporters from Kampala city and it’s surrounding area together with different NRM leaders in the same.
