USSSA president ‘reassured’ by Bukedea Comprehensive School’s FEASSA 2024 hosting preparations

The Uganda secondary schools sports association also Federation of East africa schools sports association president, Justus Mugisha, said he was “reassured” by the progress made by the Bukedea Comprehensive school (BCS) on a visit to the next East Africa schools biggest competitions hosts on Thursday.
“Am confident that the FEASSA you will organise here will be the best,” Mugisha said after meeting Bukedea comprehensive school Director Jonas Gumisiriza in Bukedea on Thursday.
“I am reassured by different infrastructure that you have put in place to host this competition. I am satisfied with the progress made, even if there are still some problems to sort out”, he added.

The Bukedea Comprehensive school and Amus College School will host the Federation of East Africa schools sports association Competition in August of 2024, just 12 months on from the last FEASSA in Huye, Rwanda.
The East Africa regional showpiece is the biggest schools sports competition next to that of Africa schools sports association held in Morocco.
The Teso zone school Bukedea comprehensive school and Amus college school, will be the first to host the FEASSA competition in Uganda which was last hosted in Uganda by Acholi and Ankole zones, are building or constructing a Semi-Olympic Swimming Pool and seven grounds for the competition.

Three grounds at Bukedea Comprehensive school the grading is almost nearing completion, with one earmarked to stage the opening ceremony the 20,000-capacity seater, construction has started, as well as planting grass will be starting soon.
Five other grounds at Amus College School, leveling is still ongoing plus working on the water channels to see that during competitions, participants have water nearby.
However, the construction of the Semi-Olympic swimming pool at Bukedea comprehensive school is going on well so far it’s understood to be only at 40 per cent.
However, Bukedea Comprehensive School Director Gumisiriza talked to wallnetnews, since they received the hosting rights both schools started off with putting all infrastructure in place in a way of beating the deadlines.
“Work is moving on well at both hosting schools, we want to leave a memorable mark in the feassa competition, we want to see that all participating schools that will happen to qualify enjoy the sporting atmosphere at both schools Bukedea Comprehensive school and Amus college school.” said Gumisiriza.
“The target for us is to at least see that we stage the best ever FEASSA competition better than that was held in Huye, Rwanda 2023 and that will be quite an achievement.” he added.
Meanwhile, since Uganda hosted the Federation of East africa schools sports association competition, has never won the overall trophy on its soil, so everyone’s prayers in Teso Zone and Eastern regional at large wants 2024 go into history with Uganda lifting Overall Trophy.
