The Uganda U17 Women’s National Team, affectionately known as Teen Cranes, showcased their prowess with a commanding 2-1 victory over Kampala Queens FC in a recent friendly match at MTN Omondi Stadium Lugogo.

The triumph served as a potent precursor to their forthcoming FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers, igniting hopes and aspirations across the nation.

Despite facing an early setback with Kampala Queens seizing an early lead through a penalty, Teen Cranes, under the astute guidance of Head Coach Sheryl Botes, rallied with fervor. Gift Nabukenya’s timely equalizer and an own goal from Kampala Queens saw the momentum decisively swing in favor of the national side, sealing a well-deserved victory.

Coach Botes, lauding her squad’s resilience and commitment, emphasized the significance of their performance in relation to the strategic components honed during rigorous training sessions. “I’m immensely proud of the girls,” expressed Coach Botes, underscoring the importance of cohesive teamwork and strategic execution as they brace for the high-stakes qualifiers against Zambia.
