Pastor Ssempa disapproves of Nyege Nyege festival, refers to it as immoral

Pastor Martin Ssempa has apparently disapproved of the famous Nyege Nyege Festival saying it shouldn’t be allowed to happen as it promotes immorality.

This festival has been happening for some years but most people are not pleased with the things that happen at the festival.

The parliament of Uganda also debated about it but they ended up compromising. Some argued that it promotes tourism more than the immorality people talk about it.

Former speaker of parliament Rebecca Kadaga is one of the big people who always officiates Nyege Nyege festival.

Pastor Sempa says he is surprised that the parliament would support Nyege Nyege festival knowing what exactly happens there.

As a pastor, he advised the youth to avoid Nyege Nyege saying the activities that take place there are ungodly. If the government knew they would stop it as soon as they can.

“I don’t support Nyege Nyege festival because we all know the bad things that happen there. The photos and videos posted on social media from the event show all the ungodly things at the event. Even if the government is fully supporting it, as a religious leader, I will never support it,” Pastor Sempa said.

It should be noted that Nyege Nyege always lasts for about four days. Different artists, and dancers show up to entertain revelers.
