Kabale – Masiiko Gilbert Bigwera who is eyeing the Ndorwa West Constituency MP seat come 2026 on Sunday launched a rabbit farming project in Kitumba sub-county in Kabale district.

Speaking to our reporter at Bwama Primary Schools playground in Bwama Parish Mwebembezi Bosco who represented Masiiko urged the beneficiaries not to sell the rabbits.

Mwebembezi also urged them to breed them very well, and share among themselves saying that they have already secured ready market for the rabbits.

He further revealed plans of extending the rabbit project in the remaining sub-counties of Kahungye, Butanda, and Ryakarimira Town Council among others.

The beneficiaries of this project from Bwama Parish and Mwendo Parish applauded Masiiko for supporting the youth by creating for them an income-generating activity.

Ahimbisibwe Gilbert, Amos Ainembabazi, and Kaguta Henry said that the youth in the sub-county had become victims of alcohol and some had resorted to stealing people’s animals because of unemployment.
