Crown Beverages hosts Thanksgiving Ceremony and Fundraiser of 100 Million for the Triplets Ghetto Kids

Crown Beverages Limited (CBL), a leading player in the beverage industry, hosted a Thanksgiving ceremony on December 21, 2023, at the Kampala Serena Hotel in Kampala, Uganda.

The ceremony was a remarkable occasion, presided over by the Most Rev. Dr. Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu, the Archbishop of the Church of Uganda and with Right Hon. Thomas Tayebwa, the Deputy Speaker of Parliament as Chief Guest.

The event served a dual purpose, not only as a moment of gratitude but also as a heartfelt fundraiser for the Triplets Ghetto Kids, an inspiring NGO based in Kampala. Founded in 2013 by Kavuma Dauda, the NGO employs music, dance, and drama as powerful tools to uplift disadvantaged children, street children, and orphans, providing them with education, healthcare, accommodation, feeding, and clothing.

Through the generosity of Crown Beverages Limited supported by various partners including Stanbic Bank, Citibank, Mukwano Group and Canaanze Construction, the ceremony successfully raised 100 million UGX, a significant contribution that will go towards furthering the noble mission of the Triplets Ghetto Kids. The substantial amount raised reflects the commitment of Crown Beverages Limited to making a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable children in the community.

In his speech, Dr. Amos Nzeyi, the Chairman of the Board of Directors expressed the company’s dedication to this cause:

“At Crown Beverages Limited, we believe in the power of collective effort to bring about meaningful change. Our support for the Triplet Ghetto Kids is not just a one-time gesture; it’s a testament to our ongoing commitment to creating a positive impact in the lives of those who need it the most. We are honored to stand alongside the Triplet Ghetto Kids in their mission to provide education, healthcare, and hope to the children who deserve every opportunity for a brighter future.”
He also highlighted the past projects that the company has been engaged in to help the community.

In January 2022, CBL made a substantial contribution to St. Francis Hospital Mutoleres in Kisoro by donating a state-of-the-art CT Scan machine. This gesture has significantly enhanced healthcare in the region, ensuring that more Ugandans have access to crucial tests and treatments. The donation aligns with CBL’s mission to improve healthcare infrastructure and services in underserved areas.

During the challenging times of the Covid-19 pandemic, CBL demonstrated its commitment to social responsibility by making donations totalling over 1 billion UGX. These contributions played a pivotal role in supporting efforts to control the spread of the virus and mitigate its impact on the community.

CBL’s steadfast commitment to healthcare extends to its ongoing partnership with Stanbic Bank. Every year, the company collaborates with Stanbic through the “Every Mother Counts” initiative, focusing on maternal health. For the past few years, CBL has contributed to hampers for the dedicated staff at Kawempe Hospital, demonstrating gratitude and support for those on the front lines of healthcare.

These CSR projects underscore CBL’s commitment to being a responsible corporate citizen, actively participating in initiatives that positively impact the lives of Ugandans. As the company continues to grow, it remains dedicated to fostering sustainable development and making a lasting difference in the communities it serves.

The ongoing CEO of Crown Beverages Limited, Ms. Hilda Mbabazi said;
“I am humbled by the ethos of community and teamwork that defines this organization. My mentor, Mr. Paddy Muramiirah, has instilled in me the importance of fostering a collaborative environment. Learning from Dr. Amos Nzeyi and Mr. Paddy Muramiirah has emphasized the significance of community-driven leadership. Together with our incredible team, we will continue to prioritize the well-being of our community and work collectively to create positive change.”

The outgoing CEO of Crown Beverages Limited, Mr. Paddy Muramiirah, flanked by the Executive team gave a heartfelt speech about the growth journey at Crown Beverages Limited.

“As I reflect on the journey at Crown Beverages Limited, I am inspired by the extraordinary commitment of my team. Together, we’ve not only built a successful company but a community that thrives on collaboration and shared purpose. It’s the collective spirit of this exceptional team that has fuelled our impact on the community, and I am confident that their unwavering dedication will continue to make a positive difference.”
