Amus College FC, the Sapir Hill-based side, produced a ruthless attacking display to dismantle Kaaro Karungi 5-0 at Amus College Stadium, recording one of their biggest home victories since making their debut in the 2026/2027 FUFA Big League season.
The school-based powerhouse delivered a devastating first-half performance, scoring four goals through David Busuulwa, Abudulalaka Muzamilu and Abudu Anyawu before completing the rout after the break.
Amus took the lead in the 11th minute when forward Busuulwa opened the scoring, setting the hosts on their way to a memorable afternoon.
Abudulalaka Muzamilu doubled the advantage in the 27th minute before Abudu Anyawu made it 3-0 in the 32nd minute, David Busuulwa then completed his brace in the 44th minute, sending Amus into the break with a commanding 4-0 lead and leaving the visitors with a mountain to climb.
The hosts maintained their attacking intensity after the restart, with substitute Mudasiru Ijosiga putting the finishing touch on the emphatic victory by scoring the fifth goal in the 75th minute.
The result marked Amus College’s first five-goal haul and their most dominant victory since stepping into the second-tier competition this season.
The victory lifted Amus College to fourth position with 10 points from five matches, having registered three wins, one draw and one defeat. They have scored nine goals and conceded only one, giving them an impressive goal difference of plus-eight.
In contrast, Kaaro Karungi remain in 12th position, second from bottom, with three points from seven matches. They are yet to register a victory, having drawn three games and lost four, scoring twice and conceding 13 goals for a negative-11 goal difference.
Speaking after the match, Amus College assistant coach Edgar Sharp Boji praised his players for executing the technical team’s game plan, “We were able to come out victorious with five goals to nil. It was a good show from the boys; we were able to play according to our game plan,” Boji said.
“We planned to attack in numbers, but also to be cautious. I want to thank the players for adapting to whatever we’ve been preparing. Of course, we would have scored more goals, but it was five for the day. Now all our focus turns to the next game, where we shall be playing Kiyinda Boys away.”
Kaaro Karungi head coach Danny Meto acknowledged his side’s disappointing performance, expressing hope for improvement in subsequent fixtures. “We have seen everything, and we hope to improve in the next games,” Meto said.
Amus College will now turn their attention to a challenging away fixture against second-placed Kiyinda Boys on Sunday, November 8, 2026.
Kiyinda Boys head into the encounter with confidence after securing a hard-fought 2-1 away victory over Young Elephant in West Nile.
They occupy second place with 13 points from six matches, having recorded four wins, one draw and one defeat. Both teams have scored nine goals, but Amus College will draw confidence from their defensive record, having conceded just once in five matches.
The encounter will be the first-ever meeting between the two sides, adding further intrigue to what promises to be a demanding test for the Sapir Hill-based team.
Following their emphatic victory over Kaaro Karungi, Amus College have sent a strong message to their FUFA Big League rivals that they are capable of competing among the leading sides.
However, the trip to Kiyinda Boys will provide a sterner examination of their ambitions as they seek to maintain their impressive start to life in the competition.
