Uganda’s FIFA Referee Shamira Nabadda selected for CAF Elite A List

Uganda’s FIFA referee, Shamira Nabadda, has been honored with a prestigious selection among the 56 referees and assistant referees included in the Confederation of African Football (CAF) “Elite A” list.

This notable group of female referees will participate in an intensive training program in Cairo, Egypt, from June 9 to 13.

The purpose of this training internship is to enhance their skills and prepare them for the high demands of continental competition.

The rigorous sessions aim to ensure that the referees are well-equipped to handle the challenges of officiating at the highest levels of African football.

This selection is not only a significant personal achievement for Shamira Nabadda but also a crucial step in the preparations for the upcoming Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

Her inclusion in the Elite A list underscores her exceptional abilities and dedication to the sport, as well as her role in representing Uganda on the international stage.

Nabadda’s participation in this training program highlights her commitment to excellence and her potential to make a substantial impact in future continental tournaments.

During this period, referees will benefit from a comprehensive program including theory sessions, practical on-field drills and rigorous physical assessments.

The focus will be on mastering the new rules of the game and improving the refereeing performance in real-game situations.

The training also aims to promote a spirit of cohesion and professionalism among referees, by equipping them with the necessary tools to ensure fair and high-quality encounters.

Meanwhile, CAF, in collaboration with international experts, is committed to offering the best possible conditions for the growth and development of African referees.
