By establishing club leagues in every district, we can ensure that talent is nurtured from a young age and given the opportunity to flourish,” Muhangi stated.

The tour will cover multiple districts, including visits to local sports facilities, meetings with district sports officers, and community engagement sessions. Muhangi will also conduct workshops and seminars to educate local coaches and administrators on best practices for running successful boxing clubs.

Muhangi emphasized the crucial role of community support in this initiative. “We need the involvement of local communities to make this a success. Parents, teachers, and local leaders all play a vital role in encouraging young people to participate in boxing and supporting their development,” he added.

Expected Outcomes, Increased Participation: A significant boost in the number of young athletes participating in boxing across Uganda, Enhanced Performance: Improved performance of Ugandan boxers in national and international competitions due to better training and early exposure to competitive boxing and Strengthened Boxing Community: A more connected and supportive boxing community working together to promote the sport.

Meanwhile, Moses Muhangi’s nationwide tour represents a pivotal step towards revitalizing boxing in Uganda. By focusing on grassroots development and establishing local club leagues, the Uganda Boxing Federation aims to create a sustainable and thriving boxing culture. This initiative is set to uplift the sport and positively impact the lives of many young Ugandans, providing them with opportunities to excel in boxing and beyond.
