UAF Assembly approves, UGX 4Bn Budget, Constitution amendments

In a landmark decision, the Uganda Athletics Federation (UAF) Assembly convened at Uganda Olympic Committee garden on Saturday, March 9th 2024 to deliberate on crucial matters, and the outcomes marked a significant step forward for the Federation.

The assembly resoundingly approved a Financial Year 2024 budget of UGX 4 billion, reflecting a commitment to the development and enhancement of athletics in Uganda, the Calendar of activities 2024/2025, External Auditors and maintained those who were serving.

The substantial budget allocation signals a clear intent to invest in training facilities, athlete development programs, coaching infrastructure, and the overall promotion of athletics at various levels.

The assembly recognizes the importance of financial support in fostering a thriving athletic community and enabling the nation’s athletes to compete on both national and international stages.

Furthermore, the UAF Assembly approved Constitution amendments which are in line with the New Sports Act 2023 and the World Athletics Constitution also aligning it with contemporary needs and international standards.

These amendments are aimed at enhancing the efficiency, transparency, and governance of the organization, ensuring it operates in accordance with best practices in sports administration.

The amendments may include provisions to streamline decision-making processes, strengthen accountability mechanisms, and promote inclusivity within the organization.
