In a shocking turn of events at the ongoing USSSA-Masaka Zone Qualifiers in Kalangala district, Luyinda Jackson, a games teacher from St. James SS Kyotera, found himself in hot water after allegedly fielding an impersonator in the competition.

Some of the forgeries made him to be arrested

The impersonator in question was identified as 29-year-old Mubiira Dassan, who had assumed the identity of Ssekyondwa Wilson, a supposed student in S.2 at St. James SS Kyotera.

However, investigations revealed that “Ssekyondwa Wilson” was actually Dassan, significantly older than the age he claimed to be.

According to reports, Dassan posed as a 16-year-old student to participate in the qualifiers, raising questions about the integrity of the competition and the responsibilities of the school staff.

Authorities swiftly intervened upon discovering the deception, leading to the arrest of Luyinda Jackson, the games teacher responsible for fielding the impersonator.

The arrest underscores the seriousness with which such incidents are treated, as they not only violate rules and regulations but also jeopardize the fairness and credibility of sporting events.

The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of maintaining the integrity of sports competitions and ensuring that participants abide by the rules.

It also highlights the need for vigilant supervision and scrutiny by school authorities to prevent such fraudulent activities from occurring in the future.

As the USSSA-Masaka Zone Qualifiers continue, this unfortunate event serves as a cautionary tale against attempts to manipulate the system for personal gain, emphasizing the values of honesty, fairness, and sportsmanship in competitive sports.
