Rubanda District Woman MP mourns Elidad Kakombe Passing at 105

Rubanda District- The Rubanda District community is in mourning following the passing of Elidad Kakombe, the beloved grandfather of Hon Prossy Akampurira Begumisa Mbabazi, the Rubanda District Woman Member of Parliament.

Kakombe, who was 105 years old at the time of his death yesterday at Rugarama Hospital in Kabale Municipality, and has been described by his granddaughter Akampurira as a pillar of the community and a source of wisdom and guidance for his entire family.

Hon. Prossy said her grandfather was a remarkable man who lived a long and fulfilling life but also was a beacon of strength and resilience, and his passing leaves a profound void that will be deeply felt by all who knew him.

In her eulogy, Hon Mbabazi urged her fellow Ugandans to follow the example set by late Elidad, emphasizing the importance of vigilance, care, and support for one’s family members, regardless of their occupation or circumstances.

She encouraged the community to share what they have with their aging parents and grandparents, recognizing the invaluable contributions they have made throughout their lives explaining that Our elders have so much to teach us, through storms of life and have a wealth of knowledge and experience that we would do well to learn from.
