Prince Kimbugwe offers over 500 scholarships to West Nile youths

ARUA. The chief executive officer of Prince Kimbugwe foundation has offered over 400 scholarships to West Nile youths to study at his Luwero based Prince Kimbugwe agriculture institute
He said the aim is to promote agricultural productivity in the region especially in the disadvantaged communities and corporate social responsibility to the people of West Nile.
“We need pollinator bees in order to promote agriculture productivity, there are very few people who are engaging themselves in bee keeping as a business, therefor these scholarships are going to support the disadvantaged community to learn agriculture from poultry to bee keeping, adding value to all agricultural products”, Prince Kimbugwe said.
Prince Kimbugwe who offered the scholarships through a selected Members of Parliament in the region revealed that he would foot the bills of all the students each costing shs 7.2 million per year,
“The skills which we are going to impart to them are sustainable, profitable, marketable and transferable, the entire package has a component of adding value to agricultural productivity, I advise the students to start small then grow other than starting big and regret”, he said.
The Arua central division MP, Jackson Atima Lee Buti said the 100 scholarships offered to him would boost his youth skilling project launched in October 2023.
He said arrangements were underway to equip the youth skilling centre to get more youths skilled for their social economic development.
The Vurra county MP, Yovan Adriko welcomed the scholarships saying they will go a long way in empowering the youths of his constituency who rarely get such opportunities.
