In Two weeks time to the start of the Africa games in Accra, Ghana the National federations in Uganda find themselves in a state of uncertainty as the country delays deciding on the sporting disciplines it will participate in for the Africa Games.

This lack of clarity has left federations in the dark, hindering their ability to adequately prepare athletes and plan for participation in the prestigious continental event.

The delay in finalizing the list of sporting disciplines for the Africa Games has created challenges for national federations, who rely on clear directives and timelines to organize training programs, competitions, and athlete selections. Without a definitive decision from authorities, federations are unable to provide athletes with the necessary support and resources to excel on the international stage.

The uncertainty surrounding Uganda’s participation in specific sporting disciplines also impacts the morale and motivation of athletes, who require clarity and certainty to focus their efforts and channel their energies effectively. The lack of direction leaves athletes in limbo, unsure of whether they will have the opportunity to represent their country and compete against their peers from across the continent.

National federations play a crucial role in nurturing and developing sporting talent in Uganda, and their ability to effectively prepare athletes for international competitions is contingent upon timely decision-making and support from relevant authorities. The current state of indecision not only hampers the progress of federations but also undermines Uganda’s potential for success at the Africa Games.

Meanwhile, as Uganda navigates through the decision-making process, there is a pressing need for swift action and clear communication to provide national federations with the guidance and support they require to prepare athletes for the Africa Games. By prioritizing transparency, collaboration, and decisive action, Uganda can empower its athletes and federations to showcase their talents and compete at the highest level on the continental stage.
