Kabale Institute of Health Science students complain of lack of tutors for months

Students at the Kabale Institute of Health Science in Kabale municipality have raised concerns over not receiving the services they are paying for from the institute but also students claim to have been in the institution without tutors for over a month now.
According to the institute’s principal, Elias Nankunda, the lack of tutors was only after the Easter holidays, which several students, including Bridget Kyokusiima, Osbert Taremwa, Lilian Naturinda, and Fortunate Namanya, have stated that the situation was similar even before the Easter break.
This ongoing issue has prompted the Kabale Resident District Commissioner, Godfrey Nyakahuma, and the Kabale Municipal Principal Education Officer, Grace Munyambabazi, to intervene in an effort to find a possible solution where the students expressed their frustration with the lack of services and tutors, which they say is hindering their academic progress and the quality of education they are receiving.
Students have called on the institute’s administration to address these concerns and ensure that they are provided with the necessary resources and support to succeed in their studies or else Uganda Nurses and Midwives Examinations Board (UNMEB) to give them Referral to other institutions if possible.
Nyakahuma says following the storm up of the students at his office on Tuesday, upon their visit to the institute they established that the institute has no enough staff to accommodate the number of students but also administration failing to provide required services which they always pay for like ward placement fee which the activity Nyakahuma ordered the administrators to do ward placement deployment in phases.
