Emmanuel Sekago (ES): Good day, Mr. Mugabe Yassin. Thank you for joining us on such short notice to discuss the recent developments regarding the USSSA-National boys football tournament draws.

Mugabe Yassin (MY): Good day, Emmanuel. It’s my pleasure to be here and share our perspective on the draws.

Emmanuel Sekago (ES): Today, April 25th, the USSSA-National boys football draws were conducted, and Welden School-Mbarara finds itself placed in Pool 0. How do you feel about this draw?

Mugabe Yassin (MY): Well, Emmanuel, we see this as both a challenge and an opportunity. Pool 0 is undoubtedly a tough group, but it’s also a chance for our boys to test their skills against some of the best teams in the tournament. We are ready to embrace the challenge and give it our all.

Emmanuel Sekago (ES): Absolutely. With the reporting day set for tomorrow, April 26th, in Masaka, how have you planned the journey for the team?

Mugabe Yassin (MY): We’ve been meticulously planning the logistics for the journey to Masaka to ensure a smooth and comfortable experience for the team. Transportation arrangements have been made, accommodations have been secured, and we’ve taken into account all necessary precautions to ensure the safety and well-being of our players and staff.

Emmanuel Sekago (ES): That sounds well-organized. Looking ahead, do you see Welden School-Mbarara progressing to the next stage of the tournament?

Mugabe Yassin (MY): We certainly believe so, Emmanuel. While we acknowledge the challenges that lie ahead, we have full confidence in the abilities of our team. They’ve been training hard, honing their skills, and developing a strong team spirit. With the right mindset and determination, we believe we have what it takes to progress to the next stage.

Emmanuel Sekago (ES): That’s a positive outlook. What do you think will be the key factors in Welden’s success in the tournament?

Mugabe Yassin (MY): Unity, discipline, and resilience will be paramount. Our team understands the importance of working together, staying focused, and bouncing back from setbacks. Additionally, tactical astuteness and seizing opportunities will play crucial roles. We’re confident that our boys are prepared both mentally and physically to face whatever challenges come their way.
Emmanuel Sekago (ES): Today, Welden School-Mbarara has been placed in Pool 0 alongside Andy Mwesigwa School, Makobere, and host Masaka Secondary School. How do you feel about this draw?

Mugabe Yassin (MY): Well, Emmanuel, it’s certainly an exciting and challenging draw for us. We are facing strong opponents, including the host school, which adds an extra layer of intensity to the matches. However, we see this as an opportunity to showcase our talent and determination on a big stage.

Emmanuel Sekago (ES): Indeed, it’s a tough group. With matches scheduled against Andy Mwesigwa School, Makobere, and Masaka Secondary School, how do you plan to navigate through these various schools?

Mugabe Yassin (MY): Navigating through such diverse opponents requires careful planning and adaptability. Each school will present its own unique challenges, and we’ll need to be prepared both mentally and tactically for each match. We’ll analyze our opponents’ strengths and weaknesses, devise strategies to exploit any vulnerabilities, and ensure that our players are well-prepared for the different styles of play they’ll encounter.

Emmanuel Sekago (ES): It sounds like thorough preparation will be key. As the Director of Welden School-Mbarara, what message do you have for the team and supporters ahead of these challenging fixtures?

Mugabe Yassin (MY): To the team, I would say: believe in yourselves, trust in your abilities, and leave everything on the field. You’ve worked hard to get to this point, and now is the time to show the world what you’re capable of. And to our supporters, I would like to express our gratitude for your unwavering support. Your encouragement fuels our determination, and we’ll be giving our all to make you proud.

Emmanuel Sekago (ES): As the Director of Welden School-Mbarara, what is your take on schools that frequently field non-bonafide students and resort to forgeries to gain an advantage in sports competitions?

Mugabe Yassin (MY): It’s a deeply concerning issue that undermines the integrity of school sports. Schools have a responsibility to uphold fair play and honesty, both on and off the field. When schools engage in the practice of fielding non-bonafide students or resort to forgeries, they not only gain an unfair advantage but also set a poor example for their students.

Emmanuel Sekago (ES): How does Welden School-Mbarara approach this issue to ensure fair play and integrity in sports competitions?

Mugabe Yassin (MY): At Welden School-Mbarara, we prioritize integrity above all else. We have strict admission policies in place to ensure that only bonafide students are enrolled at our school. Additionally, we educate our students about the importance of fair play, respect for the rules, and the consequences of dishonesty in sports.

Emmanuel Sekago (ES): What measures do you think should be implemented at a broader level to address this issue across all schools participating in sports competitions?

Mugabe Yassin (MY): I believe there needs to be greater oversight and enforcement of regulations governing school sports. Sports authorities should work closely with schools to verify the eligibility of players and investigate any allegations of misconduct. Strong penalties should be imposed on schools found to be in violation of the rules, including disqualification from competitions and suspension from future events.

Emmanuel Sekago (ES): Well said, Mr. Mugabe Yassin. Thank you for providing us with your insights today. We’ll be eagerly following Welden School-Mbarara’s journey in the USSSA-National boys football tournament.

Mugabe Yassin (MY): Thank you, Emmanuel. It’s been a pleasure speaking with you, and we appreciate the support from Wallnetnews.
