Commissioner General of Prisons hosts She Maroons FC, commends team on successful 2023-2024 season

In a celebratory event held at the Uganda Prisons Service headquarters, the Commissioner General of Prisons warmly welcomed and honored She Maroons FC, praising the team for their outstanding performance during the 2023-2024 season.

The gathering was attended by top officials, coaching staff, and players, all of whom contributed to a memorable season for the team.

The Commissioner General of Prisons, Dr. Can. J.O.R Byabashaija expressed immense pride in the achievements of She Maroons FC, highlighting their dedication, hard work, and exemplary sportsmanship.

“The success of She Maroons FC is a testament to the discipline, commitment, and teamwork that our athletes exhibit both on and off the field. Their performance this season has been nothing short of exceptional, and we are incredibly proud of their accomplishments,” he stated.

She Maroons FC’s impressive season included numerous victories and notable performances,  which have significantly raised the profile of the team within the national football scene.

The Commissioner General acknowledged the efforts of the coaching staff and management, whose strategic guidance and support were crucial to the team’s success.

In his address, Dr. Byabashaija, who also serves as the patron of Maroons Football Club, emphasized the role of sports in promoting discipline, unity, and physical fitness among the prison community. He encouraged the players to continue striving for excellence and to serve as role models for aspiring athletes within the Uganda Prisons Service and beyond.

The event also featured speeches from the team’s coach and captain, who both expressed their gratitude for the support from the Uganda Prisons Service. They reiterated their commitment to maintaining high standards and aiming for even greater achievements in the upcoming seasons.

The meeting was attended by the players, technical staff, and officials from Uganda Prisons Service. SheMaroons FC has been making waves in the FUFA WSL, and their successful season has been hailed as a testament to the team’s hard work and dedication.

The successful 2023-2024 season has set a high benchmark for She Maroons FC, and with the continued support from the Uganda Prisons Service, the team is poised for even greater accomplishments in the future.
