Bukedea Comprehensive School and Amus College School were granted the honor of hosting the Federation of East Africa Schools Sports Association (FEASSA) games in August 2024.

This prestigious opportunity is a testament to the dedication and vision of the administrations of both schools.

Observing the ongoing construction of the infrastructures and grounds that will be used during the games, it is clear that both schools are on the right path.

However, to ensure the competition’s success, it is my humble request that the government of Uganda, through the Ministry of Education and Sports, extends its support to these institutions.

The preparations at Bukedea Comprehensive School and Amus College School are highly commendable.

The construction of modern sports facilities, including fields, courts, and training areas, is progressing well and promises to provide an excellent environment for the athletes.

These state-of-the-art facilities are not only essential for the FEASSA games but will also serve as a lasting legacy for future generations of students.

The administrations’ focus on creating high-quality sports infrastructure demonstrates a strategic vision aimed at fostering athletic excellence.

In addition to sports facilities, both schools are making significant strides in enhancing their overall infrastructure.

Upgraded accommodation, dining, and recreational areas are being developed to ensure that athletes, coaches, and officials will have a comfortable and supportive environment during the games.

This holistic approach to preparation reflects a deep understanding of the multifaceted needs of hosting such a significant event.

While the efforts of Bukedea Comprehensive School and Amus College School are praiseworthy, the scale of the FEASSA games necessitates additional support.

It is crucial that the government of Uganda, through the Ministry of Education and Sports, steps in to provide the necessary resources and assistance.

Government support can play a pivotal role in ensuring that the facilities meet international standards, that logistical challenges are effectively managed, and that the event is conducted smoothly.

The involvement of the government will not only enhance the quality of the games but also demonstrate a national commitment to the development of sports and education.

By supporting these schools, the government can help create an event that showcases Uganda’s potential on a regional stage and fosters a sense of pride and unity among the citizens.

Moreover, hosting the FEASSA games presents an excellent opportunity for economic and social benefits.

The influx of visitors will boost local businesses and create opportunities for community engagement and involvement.

Government support can amplify these benefits, ensuring that the event leaves a positive and lasting impact on the local economy and community.

In conclusion, while Bukedea Comprehensive School and Amus College School are making commendable progress in preparing for the FEASSA games in 2024, the success of the competition hinges on additional support from the government of Uganda.

It is my humble request that the Ministry of Education and Sports extends its resources and assistance to these schools. Together, we can ensure that the FEASSA games are a resounding success, leaving a lasting legacy of excellence and pride for our nation.
