The Uganda secondary schools sports association-elite games that started on Wednesday, January 24th and climaxed on saturday, January 27th 2024 with Buddo secondary school and new comers Bukedea Comprehensive School dominating the competition.

The wakiso based school Buddo secondary school netball girls edged Baptist High School 32-28 to claim the USSSA-Elite netball title for the second consecutive year at the event that took place at Jinja secondary school ground.
Buddo also showcased their dominance in girl’s basketball (5×5) triumphing over host school Jinja SSS with a score of 40-27 and in basketball (3×3) to beat Gombe secondary school to win gold.

The newcomers Bukedea Comprehensive School teams emerge as the overall winners of the Volleyball games.

This remarkable achievement came after intense matches against Ngora High School and Standard High School Zana.

Bukedea girls displayed exceptional skill and determination against Ngora High School, securing a well-deserved victory with a score of 3:1.
This outstanding performance posed a significant challenge for Ngora High School, who had previously proven themselves as unbeatable.

The unexpected turn of events left Ngora High School with the silver medals, while Katikamu S.D.A claimed the bronze.In the boys’ category Bukedea won 3-1 beating Standard High School who claimed the silver medals with Jinja SS taking the bronze.
In other sports, soccer girls Kawempe Muslim School scooped gold after winning all their matches in the pool to win the round robin format with Bon Consil walking away with silver and St Noa girls school settling for bronze.

It should be noted that Kawempe Muslim SS came from a goal down to salvage a point against Bukedea Comprehensive School courtesy of a Shadia Nabirye strike. A point was just enough to hand the Valley Warriors their first trophy this year.
Boys’ football witnessed Jinja Progressive Academy (JIPRA) win 5-4 in a tense shoot-out over traditional rivals Jinja Secondary School after normal time had ended goal-less at Kakindu stadium.
James Jarieko scored the winning penalty to lead Jinja Progressive Academy to its first-ever USSSA Elite Games title as Sowedi Lwenda missed for Jinja Secondary School.
JIPRA was awarded its historic maiden Elite Games Boys Football Gold medals and trophy dethroning Standard High School Zzana who bowed out from the group stages this time.
Meanwhile,Jinja Secondary School claimed silver medal while WestVille High school walking away with bronze after hammering Kawempe Muslim 2-0 in the third-place playoff
