The case into which the chairperson of Kampala District is charged with others has take another twist at Buganda road Court. As we talk now, state prosecutors have submitted another application protesting the medical documents which were submitted by Balondemu as one of conditions for bail application.
From the submission by the state prosecutors and from their investigations, Balondemu has never been a patient at Kampala Hospital. While submitting, the state prosecutor said that they even got a letter from Kampala hospital explaining the matter. Adding that he would want to ask for leave to file more on this matter.
However, the legal team led by Hon. Mukasa Mbide, the former Member of Parliament for East African community, have protested actions by the state prosecutors for ambushing them with new applications yet they were not served. They have demanded for the the doctor who wrote the a medical letter saying that Balondemu is /has never been their patient. From their side, they have demanded for the person from Kampala hospital to come for cross examination.
From her wisdom, the margestrate has since agreed with defendant to bring the Kampala hospital doctor in court by 3:30pm to testify on the matter.
Meanwhile, another key suspect in the Same case has also surfaced, identified as Godfrey, making a total of three now who have appeared in court but others at large.
The accused were in court on Monday this week, and court heard that, while operating under a law firm M/S Bloom Advocates, obtained over UGX 2.2B from an American company KG Unlimited LLC, by falsely pretending that they were going to award it a contract of supplying agricultural drone sprayers and fertilizers from Ministry of Agriculture where as not, Which they denied and were remanded until today 22/11/2023 for their bail application.
