Amus College makes history: Teso Zone’s first qualifier for National Fresh Dairy Basketball competition, representing USSSA-Eastern region

In the heart of Teso Zone, amidst the fertile lands and rich cultural heritage, Amus College School emerges as a beacon of sporting prowess and determination.

With a storied legacy in academics and now etching their mark in sports, Amus College School enters the spotlight as the first team from Teso Zone to qualify for the esteemed National Fresh Dairy Basketball Competition.

Representing the USSSA-Eastern Region, they are poised to make history on the courts of Ndejje Secondary school.

One needs to know that on Saturday, April 20th 2024 at Majansi High school basketball courts, Amus College school was crowned the champion of the USSSA-Eastern region basketball boys after collecting 193 points followed by Jinja secondary school with 100 points.

For years, Amus College School has been a hub of talent and dedication, fostering a culture of excellence both on and off the court.

Guided by passionate coaches and mentors, the school’s basketball team has undergone rigorous training, preparing themselves for the challenges that lay ahead.

As they embarked on their journey to the USSSA-Eastern Region qualifiers, the players of Amus College School understood the magnitude of the task before them.

With unwavering determination and a burning desire to carve their names in history, they set their sights on victory, knowing that they carried the hopes and aspirations of their community.

In a fiercely contested battle against formidable opponents, Amus College School emerged victorious, securing their place in the National Fresh Dairy Basketball Competition.

The halls of the school reverberated with jubilation as students, teachers, and supporters celebrated this monumental achievement.

As they prepare to represent USSSA-Eastern Region on the national stage, the players of Amus College School know that the road ahead will be arduous.

Meanwhile, at the USSSA-National Fresh Dairy Basketball competition in Ndejje, Amus College School from Teso Zone and Jinja Secondary  School from Busoga zone plus Tororo Girls school from Bukedi Zone and Nabumali High School from Bugisu zone will represent Eastern region in boys and girls category respectively.
