The course, which is being held at Rates Hotel in Mbale, has drawn approximately 40 participants from various football clubs and schools, preparing them for the upcoming USSSA football competitions.

The three-day course, running from October 18 to 20, 2024, provides crucial insights for educators and leaders managing football at different levels. It covers a wide range of topics, including football administration, management skills, and the development of grassroots football in the region.

Notable participants include; Mateka Joseph – Chairperson TC Mind Games, Musese SS (Mbale District), Bulenda Tonny – PRO Bugisu Zone, Manafwa High School (Mbale City), Katende Kato – Highway Sironko (Sironko District), Ken Chan – Mbale Progressive SS (Mbale City), Dembo Sadam – Iganga Parents (Iganga District), Hasasha Salama – Lakeside SS (Jinja District), Olupot Cuthbert – Fairway Primary School (Mbale City) and Malele Collins – Wambwa Primary School (Mbale City).

FUFA instructor Yusuf Awuye, alongside former FIFA referee Isa Musiwa, led the course. Awuye expressed satisfaction with the impressive turnout, emphasizing the importance of such programs in enhancing football management at the grassroots level. Musiwa, in his opening remarks, urged participants to use the knowledge gained to improve football administration in their schools and communities.

“The FAMACO I course is vital for the continued growth of football in the Eastern Region. We must ensure that we create an enabling environment for young players to thrive, and this starts with proper management and administration at the grassroots level,” Musiwa stated.

The course is seen as a valuable opportunity for school administrators to sharpen their skills ahead of the highly anticipated USSSA football competitions. Participants are expected to share the knowledge gained with others in their clubs and schools, promoting the overall development of football in the Eastern Region.
