Minister Musasizi recommends British Chamber of Commerce Uganda as a better link for Business brands to both UK and Uganda

Kampala – The State Minister incharge of Finance Planning and Economics Development Hon. Henry Musasizi has recommended the formation of the British Chamber of Commerce Uganda (BCCU) as an excellent business eco-system that provides a unique opportunity for connecting several businesses and brands in both Uganda and United Kingdom. Musasizi made the remarks on Wednesday evening while launching the the business umbrella body at the residence of the British High Commissioner to Uganda H.E Kate Airey in Kampala.
Speaking at the event, the Minister applauded the Uganda government under the steadfast stewardship of President Museveni which has a consistently in terms of policy direction and action. He emphasized the importance of attracting both trade and investment as key drivers for advancing socio-economic transformation of Uganda.
The Minister, noted that Government recently adopted an ambitious strategy to grow the economy tenfold by 2040, adding that United Kingdom as a Development Partner will play a critical role in terms of Trade, Investment and Technical expertise.
Musasizi also said the Presidential Advisory Committee on Investment and Development (PACEID) together with the Private Sector Foundation Uganda (PSFU) are focused on removing trade barriers, improving regulatory frameworks and fostering a transparent and efficient investment climate.
In response, the British High Commissioner said Uganda has many opportunities and Uganda should take advantage of BCCU to strengthen trade and investment between UK and Uganda. Anne-Marie Martin, the head of the BCCU said this is a significant milestone for Uganda to join a large network,full of resources, best practices and vast investment opportunities.
