Dr. Thomas Bach awards IOC President’s trophy to Dr. Donald Rukare, UOC President

In a significant recognition of Ugandan Olympic efforts, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) President, Dr. Thomas Bach, awarded the prestigious IOC President’s Trophy to Dr. Donald Rukare, President of the Uganda Olympic Committee (UOC).

The award was presented in acknowledgment of the remarkable contributions made by Dr. Rukare and the UOC Executive Committee in promoting the Olympic spirit and values in Uganda.

In an interview with Wallnetnews, Dr. Rukare expressed gratitude, saying, “I am deeply humbled and honored to receive and accept the President’s Trophy. The recognition of the work we do at the UOC is appreciated. On behalf of the UOC Executive Committee and team, I thank President Dr. Thomas Bach OLY for this recognition and pledge to work even harder to promote Olympism and the Olympic values in Uganda.”

This award highlights the UOC’s dedication to fostering Olympic ideals, advancing sports development, and creating impactful programs for athletes and communities across Uganda.
