Fauziah Nakiboneka Ready to Take on Lora Ndagire in Historic Women’s Corporate Fight

Fauziah Nakiboneka, the renowned Ugandan actress and performer, is set to face off against Lora Ndagire, also known as Omubejja, in the highly anticipated first-ever Uganda Boxing Federation (UBF) Corporate Women’s fight.

The showdown is scheduled for November 9th, 2024, at the Lugogo MTN Arena, promising a thrilling and historic night for women’s boxing in Uganda.

At the official launch of the event on Tuesday, October 22nd, 2024, held at Paradise Fitness City Gym and Spa in Acacia, the tension between the two competitors was palpable. Both fighters vowed to crush each other, but Nakiboneka, with her characteristic confidence, claimed that Lora Ndagire was “dead meat,” a statement that sent journalists into fits of laughter.

For those unfamiliar with her, Fauziah Nakiboneka, born on May 15th, 1977, is more than just an actress. Known for her role as Sarah Gava in the popular TV drama OMG, she is also a singer, dancer, and humanitarian. Nakiboneka’s rise to fame began with The Ebonies, Uganda’s oldest and most successful stage drama group, where she has been a leading actress since joining in 1999 during her Senior Six vacation.

Her acting career has spanned decades, starring in iconic Ugandan productions like That’s Life Mwattu and Kyekyo. Now, Nakiboneka is stepping into a new arena—boxing—under the guidance of renowned Star-One Coach Ashraf Nsubuga, who has trained celebrated athletes like Moses Golola.

Speaking about Nakiboneka’s preparations, Coach Nsubuga expressed confidence in her progress. “Fauziah is responding well to training, and she’s more than ready for the fight. Fans should expect a serious showdown at Lugogo,” he said. Nakiboneka’s morning workouts at Paradise Fitness City Gym have demonstrated her determination and fitness levels ahead of the big event.

On the other hand, Lora Ndagire, whose coach is Dickson Muhairwe, is also gearing up for the fight, dismissing Nakiboneka’s bold claims with her own sharp retorts.

“If I’m dead meat, Nakiboneka better have an ambulance ready because she might need it,” Ndagire joked during her interview with Wallnetnews.

Known for her resilience, Ndagire’s fans expect her to put up a strong challenge in the ring, adding to the excitement surrounding this groundbreaking match.

The president of the Uganda Boxing Federation, Moses Muhangi, hailed the event as a dream come true.

“For years, boxing has been perceived as a sport for men and especially for those in the ghettos. Launching this first Corporate Women’s fight is a major step forward in the sport’s development, bringing it into corporate spaces and empowering women,” said Muhangi.

The director of Paradise Fitness City Gym and Spa, Rahim Adtani, expressed his delight at collaborating with the Uganda Boxing Federation to support the fighters’ preparations. “We are honored to host Nakiboneka and Ndagire as they train for this historic fight. We can’t wait for November 9th.”

As anticipation builds, fans and stakeholders alike are eager to witness who will walk away with the newly introduced Corporate Belt. Predictions vary, but one thing is certain: the ring on November 9th will be a battleground for skill, strength, and pride.

Who will come out on top—Fauziah Nakiboneka or Lora Ndagire? Only time will tell, but both fighters are ready to make history in Uganda’s first-ever Corporate Women’s boxing match.
