STAHIZA Set for debut in National Secondary Schools U16 Girls Football Competition

Standard High School – Zana is gearing up to make its debut in the National Secondary Schools U16 Girls Football competition, scheduled to take place from September 1st to 9th, 2024, at Teso College – Aloet.

This little-known school has overcome significant challenges to reach the nationals, under the guidance of Coach Aleluya Mutungi.

Speaking to Wallnetnews, Coach Mutungi expressed his excitement and aspirations for the team. “It will be the first time for the players at the nationals. Of course, I expect them to suffer from stage fright, but I’m confident they will pick up,” Mutungi said. He is hopeful that the team can surprise the big schools and even compete for the championship trophy. “We are having so many friendly matches to give the girls enough exposure. By the time they get to Soroti City, we’re very much assured they will put up a big fight.”

Apollo Sabbit, a staff at Standard High School -Zana also interviewed by Wallnetnews, shared Mutungi’s optimism. “I expect the girls to make wonders by winning the trophy; that’s what is in their DNA,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Fans of Standard High School – Zana are eager to see the team’s performance in the upcoming competition. Many are hopeful that the girls will not only compete but also leave a significant mark, showcasing their skills and determination on a national stage.

With high expectations and a rigorous preparation schedule, the school is poised to make a memorable debut in the U16 Girls Football competition.
