Speeding vehicle knocks dead Kabale boda boda rider

Kabale – The territorial Police of Kabale have registered a fatal road traffic Accident which claimed the life of a boda boda rider.

Elly Maate the Kigezi Region Police spokesperson confirmed the development saying that the incident happened Thursday at around 10:45am at Kahama Kitumba along Kabale Katuna highway in Kabale district.

The accident involved motor vehicle reg. no UAE 865S Toyota Premio silver grey in colour driven by Anthony Abaho 32 years and a resident of Katuna boarder and motor cycle reg. No UEK 579G Bajaj Boxer red in colour being ridden by one Ivan Mugisha 25 years of  Kahama Cell Kitumba sub-county Kabale district.

Maate told journalists that the Police was notified, visited the scene and body taken to Kabale regional referral Hospital mortuary for postmortem.

Elly Maate disclosed that while both motor vehicle and motorcycle were heading the same direction, the motorcyclist in front decided to cross to the opposite side abruptly without indicating, hence was knocked by the car following and died on the spot.

Both the motorcycle and motor vehicle were towed and parked at Kabale traffic yard pending IOV inspection as inquiries go on.
