Prior to the match, the Venoms supporters  were treated to a lit presentation of new signing Allan Okello, who joined the team  after Club director Dr Lawrance Mulindwa unveiling him in the morning.

Smartly dressed in a black suit he  walked onto the field of play, displayed the Vipers jersey labelled with his name and number and later walked around the field  waving to the chanting crowd.

In response to the warm welcome, Okello expressed his joy and excitement in a statement via his social media handles. “Hey Venoms, Here’s to a fresh chapter  at VipersSC, Let’s do this #AO8.”
Into the game, Vipers  made a fast start and nearly got into the lead in the sixth minute but Mohamed Salem Ekbad’s header was inches wide from a Bright Anukani corner.

Mulondo then broke the deadlock with a thunderous header in the 14th minute, after a superb Ashraf Mandela cross.
In the 32nd minute, the Venoms  added a second through Lawal finish, following brilliant interplay between Yunus Sentamu and Bright Anukani.

Yunus Sentamu ignited the move from the centre of the pitch and passed the ball to Anukani who passed it back before Sentamu had a quick exchange with Lawal and the latter fired past goalkeeper Richard Anyama.

In the second half, Arua Hill nearly pulled one back in the 61st minute but Gadafi Wahab’s freekick was met with a brilliant Jack Komakech save.

However in the seven minutes to the 90, skipper Milton Karisa should have added a third for Vipers, but he failed to fully connect with the ball as Anyama saved.

The win gives  the defending champions Vipers SC an early lead on the table with two wins from  that they defeated Gaddafi FC 2-1 in Jinja on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the Venoms  who are now leading the table with Six points will take Mbarara City FC away in the next match at Kakyeka Stadium.
