Uganda marks 42 days to Paris 2024 Olympics

Uganda celebrated the 42-day countdown to the Paris 2024 Olympics with a vibrant ceremony held at Protea Marriot Hotel on Friday, June 14th 2024, The event was graced by the presence of Uganda Olympic Committee (UOC) President Donald Rukare, alongside presidents and secretaries of various Uganda sports federations and associations. The ceremony also highlighted the generous contributions from key sponsors Kansai Plascon Paints, Nile Breweries, and Sanlam Insurance.

Uganda Olympic Committee partners, Kansai Plascon Paints who Contributed UGX 125 million (approximately USD 35,000) to support Uganda’s Olympic preparations, also Nile Breweries Injected UGX 200 million (approximately USD 56,000) into the national teams’ preparations, further demonstrating their commitment to Uganda’s sporting success and Sanlam Insurance who Provided comprehensive insurance coverage for the entire contingent, ensuring the athletes and officials are well-protected throughout their Olympic journey were all present.

In his address, President Donald Rukare expressed gratitude for the unwavering support from the sponsors and emphasized the importance of the contributions in enabling the athletes to perform at their best in Paris. “The support from Kansai Plascon Paints, Nile Breweries, and Sanlam Insurance is crucial for our athletes’ preparation and success at the Olympics. Their contributions ensure that our team is well-equipped and secure as they represent Uganda on the global stage,” he stated.

As the countdown to the Paris 2024 Olympics continues, Uganda’s athletes are intensifying their preparations across various disciplines. The support from sponsors plays a vital role in providing the necessary resources for training, travel, and overall well-being of the athletes.
