UBF unveils prestigious belts as Champions League ends on Dec 26th

As people prepare for the Christmas holidays outing, on the side of sports people need to understand that the Uganda Boxing Federation has already catered for them come December 26th 2023.
The finals of the Uganda boxing champions league season two will take place at UMA, Lugogo, compared to the inaugural season when finals were held at MTN lugogo arena and this year.

The sports body mandated to oversee boxing in the country headed by Moses Muhangi unveiled the Uganda Boxing Champions League belts at the press conference held on Tuesday at Copper Chimney – Lugogo.
The Boxing champions league is the last activity on the calendar of Uganda boxing federation and the finals will be on Boxing Day, December 26th, where the best fighters will vie for glory and the prestigious belts, the first of its kind in the history of boxing in Uganda the winners in the thirteen (13) weights in men and twelve (12) in womenc ategories.

“On the change of venue, we thought of going to different places that can accommodate the number of people that usually attend boxing and more, went to Freedom City but in the end chose UMA show grounds because of the ample parking space.” said Muhangi.

Seth Mulali, Director of Top Boy Promotions added that the introduction of the belts is a sign of the league’s growth; “We believe that the belts will motivate the boxers, both in the finals.” He said
“Winning is not just about money, visible and physical prizes like belts are important as well,we want to ensure that boxers in the league take pride in it by adding new initiatives like the belts.” he added.
The competition finale promises to create an unforgettable night of boxing with the best boxers in the land who will come together and battle for the ultimate prizes.
Some of the top fights will be Mulungi Kasim of East Coast boxing club locking horns with Kyobe Jonathan from Lukanga boxing club, the other big one also will be between Ssemuddu Muzamir from Kololo being club up against Kimbugwe Broline from COBAP, while Saudah Muhammed from Mutajjazi boxing club will face off with Namagembe Aisha from UBF Select.
