
Protect School Property From Vandals and Thieves – School Administrators Told

Rubanda – Authorities in Rubanda district have warned school administrators to be vigilant in ensuring safety of school properties during this holiday, in order to avoid vandalization and cases of stealing the school properties.
They were speaking on Monday at the district headquarters during the handover of 145 pre-painted iron sheets, 19 ridges and 28 kilograms of nails to Hamurwa Primary School from Hamurwa Sub County that received 80 iron sheets and Rukore Two Primary School from Muko sub-county that received 65 iron sheets. The district had recently donated 1,232 pre-painted iron sheets, to other 9 primary schools that were procured at a tune of Ugx100 million shillings which was part of an additional funding from central the government.
The Rubanda District LC5 Chairperson Steven Ampeire Kasyaba Kasyaba and the Rubanda District Education Officer Francis Serunoni said that during this economic crisis people are using all means for survive through engaging in theft, therefore school administrators including head teachers and school management committees should be conscious in protecting school properties during this holiday.
Speaking at the same function, the Rubanda district Speaker Mary Waguma and the Rubanda district Secretary for education and health, Obed Mutatiina Kitabutuuka expressed the need for the district education department to organize an induction meeting to the leaders of school management committees, parents teachers association (PTA) leaders and their Headteachers in order to help them understand their respective roles, as well as help proper operationalization of the schools.
