POLICE VEHICLE INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT, ONE DEAD

Police in Kisoro has registered a fatal road accident involving one of their vehicles Reg.No.UP 7644 Land cruiser belonging to Kisoro Central Police Station driven by No.55220 Corporal Driver. Atuhire Robert and a male juvenile named Ahimbisibwe Ceaser 6yrs old, son of Ssekabanza Edward a Mufumbira of Gahooro village Kyanika trading center in Kisoro district.

 

According to Elly Matte; the Police Spokesperson Kigezi region, the accident happened on Wednesday 20th April at about 6:30PM at Gahooro village in Kyanika town center when the victim together with two other kids were playing by the road side, chased themselves towards the vehicle in motion and hit his head onto the vehicle.

 

The incident was registered at the Kisoro CPS under case number TAR 26/2022
The boy was rushed to Clare Senga health centre in Kyanika where he died shortly.

 

The scene of the accident was later visited by ASP Alele Solomon OC Traffic Kisoro and team, a postmortem was done and the body was handed over to the relatives for burial.

 

The police vehicle registration plate number UP 7644 is currently parked at the Central Police Station Kisoro pending Inspector of Vehicles (IOV ) inspection and inquiries into the cause of the accident is ongoing according to Matte.
