Police urges people in Kigezi to be security-conscious during Easter celebrations

Kabale – Police in the Kigezi sub-region has called upon the public to shun what is evil and do things according to Jesus’ teachings and observe the laws in the constitution during Easter celebrations.

The call was made on Thursday by the Kigezi region police spokesperson ASP Elly Maate while giving out security measures ahead of Easter celebration during a press conference held at Kabale central police station in Kabale municipality.

Maate called upon the public to maintain law and order in whatever they do, saying that as police they are aware that some people may want to engage in criminal activities during the festive season, and cautioned them that they are ready to arrest whoever tries to do so.

He also requested people to remain security-conscious and vigilant in their homes, places of worship and all entertainment centers and report immediately to the nearby police incase of any security threat.

He further urged the organizers of concerts to have confirmation letters from the police in order to avoid any inconveniences.
