One dead in Rubanda accident along Kabale-Kisoro road

Rubanda – Police in Rubanda district has registered a fatal accident which occurred on Sunday at Nyamiyaga Cell, Nyakabungo Ward, Rubanda Town Council along Kabale-Kisoro road which left one person dead.

The cars involved in the accident are of registration number UBJ 378U salon car, and UAD 726Q Man trailer belonging to a one Mugabe Quraish Shamir 36-year old Munyankore by tribe and resident of Bulenga in Wakiso district, and Arinda Erias who was a passenger aged 20 and resident of Murole A” Nyakubungo Ward Rubanda Town Council.

It’s alleged that the victim sat on the behind bed of the trailer as it was going to load timber from a nearby trading centre, and when it tried to negotiate a sharp corner in Nyamiyaga along Kabale Kisoro road, he fell off and hit his head on the tarmac and died instantly.

Police visited the scene, a postmortem was done and the body was handed over to the relatives for burial.

The driver is in detention and the motor vehicle is currently parked at Rubanda police station pending inspection by inspector of vehicles (IOV).
