Nyundo sub-county residents petition Kisoro DHO to send health worker to Rugarambiro aid post

Kisoro – Residents of Nyundo sub-county, Kisoro district have again  petitioned the district health officer Dr. Steven Nsabiyumva to send a health worker to Rugarambiro Aid Post because patients are facing a difficult time walking long distances to Bukimbiri Health Center III.

Nyundo sub-county chief Christine Ntakirutimana said people are suffering because the health post no longer has a health worker which forces many to walk long distances when seeking medical treatment.

Dr. Nsabiyumva, the district health officer said the position of health assistant is being phased out by government adding that a more qualified staff will soon be posted to Rugarambiro aid post.

Nyundo sub-county district councilor Bernadette Tumwikirize thanked the district for considering the need for a health worker at the aid post and urged communities to maintain good hygiene and sanitation.
