NTV journalist perishes in deadly Entebbe expressway accident

Wakiso – NTV journalist Edward Muhumuza has died in a car accident this morning. 

Muhumuza 32, died from a single fatal accident along Kampala express highway at Mpala opposite Mpala road toll at around 8:20am on Saturday as he was rushing to work.

He was driving his motor vehicle registration number UBG 323S (Toyota Passo).

In a statement by the directorate of traffic about the accident, it’s alleged he lost control of his vehicle and veered off the a road, knocked a sign post and overturned several times, killing him on the pot. 

“The cause of the accident has been attributed to over speeding. However, more inquiries are still  at hand,” Faridah Nampiima, the traffic police spokesperson said.

His body has been conveyed to City Mortuary for postmortem examination. 

Muhumuza had been a journalist at NTV where he joined after leaving Urban TV.

His body was later taken for prayers at SDA Makerere today, and later the body will be taken to the funeral home.

On Sunday, there will be a vigil at there family home in Ndikutamada, off Busabala Road, , and on Monday the body will for Kyegegwa and burial on the same day at 12pm after prayers.

Many of his colleagues in the industry remember him as being hardworking, and friendly. By Press time, a condolence message was released by his former employer Nation Media Group. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
