National Enterprise Corporation hands over refurbished Butabika Hospital ward to management

On Thursday, the managing director of the National Enterprise Corporation (NEC), Lt. Gen. James Mugira oversaw the handover of Kireka ward at Butabika national mental referral hospital to its executive director, Dr Juliet Nakku.

The hospital has been under expansion and refurbishment by NEC construction, works and engineering Ltd (NEC Works); a subsidiary of NEC.

Gen. Mugira and Dr Nakku in a guided tour were taken through different sections of the ward by Engineer Brian Buhanda, the general manager of NEC works.

Gen. Mugira thanked Dr Nakku for the services rendered to the nation to address one of the biggest challenges of our time; mental health.

He further thanked the hospital management for giving NEC an opportunity to do the job which he hoped has been done well, and at a rather low cost compared to other private companies and delivered on time.

Gen. Mugira thanked the Dr Nakku for the visible work and cleanliness at the hospital.

On her part, Dr Nakku thanked NEC for the quality work and wonderful team on the site.

She said that she was pleasantly surprised that soldiers could listen to civilians and looked forward to closer future collaboration.

Present at the function were: the hospital administrator, ward in-charge and the supervising agency among others.
