Namara trounces Nabaasa to become Bishop Barham College guild president

Kabale – Namara Owen a second year student pursuing Bachelors of education at Uganda Christian University, Bishop Barham College Kabale was Saturday evening announced as the next guild president, after defeating Nabaasa Douglas who was his closest rival in the guild race.
Namara emerged winner after garnering 344 votes, defeating Nabaasa who trailed in second position with 218 votes.
Announcing the winner from the  University main hall, the chairperson university electoral commission Ansiimira Joshua commended the office of the Dean of students and the university administration for supporting the  election process.
He also lauded the students for their cooperation and good discipline during the electoral process.
Speaking with our reporter after being declared winner, Namara could not hide his happiness, and promised to fight for the rights of all students in the university using his experience in leadership.
On a special note, he  thanked the students body for the support they showed him and promised to fulfill his promises as stated in the manifesto.
