The area member of Parliament for Rushenyi county, Naome Kabasharira has appealed to locals to protect their water sources especially those who have received piped water projects.

MP Kabasharira made this call through her Christmas message to the beneficiaries of the gravity water project in Rwentobo-Rwahi Town Council. A few days ago Kabasharira handed over water pipes to the beneficiaries and asked them to take control and protect their water project to ensure it lasts long for clean water.

Kabasharira said a group of people including their area chairman approached her recently lobbying for the water pipes for their initiated project (gravity water), positively she considered their demand and brought for them these water pipes. She urges them to ensure there is unity among the community in sharing of this clean water.

Among the areas that benefited include Nyanga 1, Nyanga 2 and Nyakashenshero all in Rwentobo-Rwahi town Council in Rushenyi County Ntungamo District.

Previously, MP Kabasharira through Poverty Alleviation program was able to lobby about 40 cows to the people of Kagongi Parish in Rugarama Rushenyi county. This was intended to fight poverty within communities in Rushenyi county.

In her Christmas message, Kabasharira urges the public to consider the current bad economy and spend sparingly as they celebrate this Christmas holiday. She asked parents to be extra careful as they spend for Christmas and be in mind that children are going back to school early next year, so that they can reserve some money for school fees.
