Lukanga boxing club wins 2023 in style

Boxing is another sport that has made news in Uganda and this year 2023 has been successful the sport that had lost its brand but under the leadership of Moses Muhangi, Boxing is now a brand that corporate companies are fighting to associate with come next year 2024.
Lukanga boxing club after winning the 2023 National novice boxing championship on December 2nd, that attracted over 600 pugilists from 47 clubs winning in Junior category with 32 points, Youth with 40 points and elir with 32 points and Overall with 104 points at the MTN Lugogo arena that was graced by Uganda Olympic committee president Dr Doanld Rukare and Nakawa Municipality Mayor Paul Mugabe.
On Saturday, December 16th 2023, Lukanga boxing club again proved its dominance when it retained this year’s national Intermediate boxing championship for the fourth time.
It should be noted that Lukanga won this championship in 2017 and 2018 but in 2019 the competition was not held because the Boxing federation had no funds then 2020 and 2021 it was due to Covid-19 pandemic.
Come 2022, Lukanga boxing club went on to lift the title and yesterday at Lugogo MTN arena they proved it again.
The Uganda boxing federation president Moses Muhangi,Sharif Bogere from the Floyd Mayweather Team and senior Danny Lutaaya from London graced the closing ceremony.
Talking to wallnetnews, Muhangi who was filled with happiness thanked all participant clubs for making this year’s championship a competitive and successful.
Meanwhile, as the year comes to an end with the last activity on the Uganda Boxing federation calendar 2023, will be the Uganda boxing Champions League Week 12, the finals set for December 26, 2023, at UMA Grounds.
