Former Mbarara City Councilor and the Mbarara City Land Board Boss, Benon Kajubi Maisho has appealed to political Leaders and Technical Persons to avoid sabotage and malice against private projects or programs that intend to support Government institutions and communities as far as services are concerned.

According to Kajubi, wicked politics in most areas of Uganda have crippled service delivery due to conflicts of interest.

He urged that heads of government institutions especially the Bosses of Local government Councils are supposed to work in a condition of accommodating all the private programs and projects coming their areas aiming at aiding the communities without politicking around.

Kajubi has revealed that if politics are put aside, people who are rich should support the government and their communities.

He said that the Government cannot afford to satisfy all its institutions, therefore as individuals, they come up to give some aid to their communities like supporting schools, Churches, Health and other areas that need services.

However, some Leaders tend to have it in different perceptions and start involving in politics against some of the projects that come into their areas.

Kajubi, initiated a program of aiding schools in Mbarara City North Division by providing Pre-PLE Exams to each Government and private school. He also made a commitment to award all the best candidates from the PLE results.

This program was introduced to Mbarara City North Council and the Leadership of the Division led by Mayor Gumisiriza Kyabwisho received and approved it as part of support from an Individual.

However, it has been revealed that there were a section of Leaders including the area MP who were trying by all means to ensure this program does not work successfully, and this sabotage was because of politics.

It is understandable that Kajubi is a former Aspiring MP for Mbarara City North Division and he is still threatening to oust MP Robert Mwesigwa Rukaari from that seat come 2026.

“We try our best as leaders and as stakeholders of Mbarara City to support our communities with such efficient programs but other people especially leaders try to fight us because of politics, some demonize us because of fear, but I want to respect Mayor Kyabwisho for allowing this program in his Division and for not fighting it” said Kajubi

Last weekend, Kajubi and the leadership of Mbarara City North Division led by Mayor Kyabwisho donated about 18 mattresses as prizes to the best candidates of the recent PLE who scored 4 aggregates. Headteachers of those schools who performed well were also awarded.

Mayor Kyabwisho said that he is ready to work with anybody who brings development to this division. “Me, I consider service delivery the most, as long as someone brings a program that benefits our people I have no problem,  i just have to welcome you” said Kyabwisho.
