Kisoro police investigate two mysterious murder cases

Kisoro – The Police in Kisoro are investigating circumstances surrounding the death of two people.

The two are Lydia Kesiime; 38 years old a Mufumbira by tribe and Jackson Hakizimana 33 years old, both residents of Gahiza Village Buhoozi Parish Busanza sub-county in Kisoro district.

The Kigezi sub region police spokesperson ASP Elly Maate told journalists that it’s alleged that Lydia Kesiime went missing from home on 6th May 2023 and that the matter was reported to Kisoro police station.

And that search was conducted by police and on Wednesday morning, her body was recovered from a nearby garden of beans decomposing due to injury sustained on the neck.

Maate added that police was notified by Richard Mukunzi, the scene of crime was visited and documented, postmortem was done and three suspects were arrested to assist in investigations.

He added that while the police was still at the scene, at around 11:00am, they received information that one of the suspect Jackson Hakizimana who was on run was seen and lynched by the mob by the locals.

And that the same team visited that scene and body was taken to Kisoro Hospital mortuary for postmortem.

Maate said that inquiries are ongoing upon completion, whoever will be found to have been involved in any of the murders, will be arrested and charged accordingly.
